Google

Biogeek has put up an interesting video of Lewis Black talking about Google - It is interesting that is was only today that I was reading the following article about Google being the most invasive of all net firms. The empire they are building is really expanding what now with news of their uni mails being rolled out.

I am starting to have a very bad feeling about Google....

So first it was rumored that apple was gonna become the evil empire.
Now google?

I prefer google, I don't have to be organized with my stuff, they just find it for me :P

I think the idea of street view is excellent. I just used it to navigate around San Francisco, and knowing where to go before actually being there. It is one of this new technologies that make you realize you are "in the future"...

However, it has very serious privacy concerns. Just because you are in a public space doesn't mean you don't have privacy. They should probably try to use some computer vision algorithms to try to blurr humans from the images, or make some kind of compsoition where only the landmarks are shown, but not the people...

But that thing is not looking into peoples homes... so they have got some guy picking his nose and another person going outside a striptease bar ... how is that invading privacy compare to any other passer by that sees that?

You know what risk you take when you scratch your ass outdoors.
don't you?

Dunno I still fail to see the privacy issue.
